We recently caught up with Hannah, a bride who found her perfect preloved dress and got married at The Sure Thing Chapel in Las Vegas. Here's her story, filled with insights, tips, and a lot of love.

Why Vegas?

For Hannah and her husband, the decision to get married in Vegas was a mix of spontaneity and a desire for something unique. "It's really terrible, but we both had a bad day at work and we kind of went, that's it, we're doing Vegas. But apart from the bad day at work, we wanted to do something a bit different, something unique to us," she shared. They always envisioned a small, intimate legal ceremony followed by a big celebration. The most crucial aspect for them was to prioritise their own desires over trying to please everyone else. "Ultimately, the most important thing we did was we actually put ourselves first in what we wanted out of our wedding because what we found was when we were going through wedding planning and planning something in the UK, it was literally to please everybody else. And we just thought, no. We're putting ourselves first. It's our day, and this is about us and our commitment to one another. So let's just do it and do it in style."

Planning Tips for a Vegas Wedding

Planning a wedding abroad can seem daunting, but Hannah found the process surprisingly smooth. "In terms of planning a wedding abroad, it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I actually had very little stress around it. I had some vendors that were absolutely fantastic." Her biggest tip? Utilise social media and local recommendations. "Being on the Facebook group, Las Vegas wedding planning from the UK, was great. We got LOADS of recommendations, It's where we found our photographer! She recommended a chapel, who also recommended loads of vendors, and we pretty much used them." Having previously visited Vegas, Hannah was also familiar with various restaurants and venues, making the planning process even easier.

Two Day’s to Remember

Hannah's Vegas wedding was all about celebration and joy and they plan to celebrate in the UK with a big party later this year. "Our big thing is it's just a celebration. We want everyone to have a good time. We want everyone to party. We want everyone to chill and relax and just let their hair down. Literally. That is our vibe. Happy feels." They embraced the kitsch aesthetic of the chapel and plan to incorporate that fun, unique style into their UK celebration as well. The focus was always on having a day that was truly about them and their love. "The most important thing for me and also for my now husband was making sure that the day was about us. A lot of people put everybody else first, but we went, no, this is about us. And that's that. Our event in October is for everybody else, but our actual wedding was about us, and that was our big thing."

Choosing a Preloved Wedding Dress

Hannah discovered Love Sustained Bridal Studio through a vendor recommendation, and it was the perfect fit for her non-traditional wedding. "What I love about you guys was that your dresses were different from a traditional wedding dress, and I wanted something a bit different because my wedding was going to be different. But what I really liked about it was that, they were either preloved or they were ex-sample and that recyclable element. It's good for the environment and it's sustainable! I love the idea that somebody else may have had a fantastic day in that outfit and I’m going to continue that for my dress." Hannah's dress received countless compliments for its chic, vintage style. "Just a big, big thank you for my wedding dress. Everybody comments on it! I felt like a princess." Seeing photos and videos of herself twirling in the dress made her even more grateful for her choice. "I felt beautiful. Any bride, I would say put yourself first. Do what you want to do and just have fun and forget all the other stresses. And, yeah, that's kind of it. And I think everyone should get married in Vegas because it's so much fun!"
